Happy 2017!

This year for me is all about feeling and looking both healthy and radiant. These are a few of my favorite beauty products to help accomplish just that. Click the title to be linked to the item.

1. Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($13-$24)

Between their primers and setting sprays, Urban Decay is always my go-to when it comes to having makeup last through the entire day or night. This primer creates for crease-free, smooth, and vibrant eyeshadow looks that last.

2. Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel ($72-$124)

New year = new signature scent! This all time classic perfume by Chanel will definitely be my everyday scent in 2017.

3. Mario Badescu Facial Spray  ($7)

This refreshing facial mist gives dry and tired skin a nice pick me up. Put in on over your moisturizer to lock in hydration, over make up to set it, or whenever your skin needs a little boost. Not to mention due to the rosewater, aloe, and herbs combination it smells absolutely incredible.

These eye masks are great in helping remove dark under eye circles. Put them in the fridge an hour before use for even better results.

5. Bobbi Brown Retouching Face Pencil in "Illuminate" ($32)

This highlighting pencil adds a natural glow perfect for the brown bone and the inner corner of the eyes.

6. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water ($16-$32)

This Primer by Smashbox is packed with electrolytes to intensely hydrate skin all the while it creates a sheer canvas for flawless make up application. This product can be used to as a primer, to refresh skin, and to set makeup as well.

Trend Watch: Leopard Print

TREND ALERT:

In fashion I'm all for taking risks and wearing super bold pieces and Leopard/Cheetah print is just that. Especially for the remainder of the cold seasons, a (faux of course) furry jacket with one of these prints is the perfect statement piece to take any plain outfit to the next level. This trend definitely has me channeling my inner childhood Cheetah Girl self

Here are some Cheetah-licious items/looks I love:

The Not-So-Basic Holiday Gift Guide All Under $55

THE MOST WONDERFUL SEASON IS FINALLY UPON US (and no I am not talking about finals season)!

I have always been a huge lover of the holiday season because: 1. Who doesn't love listening to Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You  on repeat 24/7 for an entire month, and 2. It's fun spending hours that should be spent studying, finding the perfect gift for friends/family!

Don't know what to get someone for Christmas or Chanukah (for all my Jewish babes)? Well don't worry, I've done all the hard work for ya and compiled this Holiday Gift Guide for the not-so-basic female in your life- and they're all under $55!

(Click the title to be linked to the product)

1. S'well Bottle ($35+)

S'well bottles are literally a-mazing! These bottles keep beverages cold for up to 24 hours, and hot drinks retain their heat for up to 12. With a variety of sizes and colors you're bound to find one for whoever it is you're shopping for (I'm obsessed with the Rose Gold one pictured below).

Polaroids are a great gift because they allow for you to capture super candid moments and have them printed out instantly. The Instax Polaroid Mini is also the perfect size to throw in your bag and whip out for all those camera-worthy memories on the go.

The film also comes in a wide variety from plain white ($13+) to film with a whole array of patterns and designs ($13+).

The polaroid photos make for great room decor all by themselves, or even cuter in a glittery frame (2 for $10) or a polaroid photo album ($12).

3. Calvin Klein Triangle Bra and Undies Set ($36) ($22)

The triangle bra is the latest of the Calvin Klein intimates collection and pairs perfectly with the iconic Calvin Klein undies. These items run pretty true to size and come in 7 different colors. The CK bra is definitely a staple piece for me and is so comfy that I literally live in it.

4. Portable Charger ($20)

Let's be real you can literally breathe on your iPhone and the battery goes from 100% to 0% real quick. There's nothing worse than constantly getting the "low battery" notification when you're no where near a power source.

This portable power bank is the solution! Not only does it provide power for 8 hours of talk time, 10 hours of video and 40 hours of music, it also comes in NINE different ~trendy n' cute~ color options. My two favorite are the python and hologram options below.

5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit- Ultimate Glow ($45)

You definitely can not go wrong with a new highlighter for any makeup lover in your life. I mean since it is the holiday season, if the highlighter on your nose isn't brighter than Rudolph's, then WYD?

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Ultimate Glow Kit is bomb.com and provides a variety of highlighters ranging from the super light and shimmery snow  to the shade hot sand that gives you that "I was just in Cabo for a week" deep bronze glow.

6. Soul Cycle Classes ($34+)

A gift card for Soul Cycle classes is the perfect gift for all those fitness junkies in your life who love to "tap it back". Still can't tell if you're joining a cult or just there to workout when you go to Soul, but hey who doesn't love cute merchandise, loud music, and rave-like lights to get their workout on?

7. Agate Bottle Opener ($16)

This bottle opener is ideal for the girl in your life who likes to occasionally enjoy a drink that doesn't come out of a bag after you slap it.  This unique bottle opener comes in the color options of "rose quartz" and "amethyst". Each of these bottle openers are one of a kind as well.

8. Uber Gift Card

This one is a no brainer. Anyone would be stoked to get an Uber gift card because #UberEverywhere.

Hope this gift guide helped give you some clarity and some non-basic gift ideas for this holiday season!

The Makeup Brand For Every Girl On The Go

When I have at least an hour to spare and am in the mood for breaking out enough products/brushes to cover my entire counter, I'm all for creating super "fleeky" make up looks... Especially with highlighter that's brighter than the sun, and winged eyeliner that is so sharp it could actually cut you.

But in reality being someone who is trying to balance doing well academically, a lit social life, and getting an adequate amount of sleep, a super extensive make up routine is the absolute last thing that I have time to squeeze into my day-to-day routine. That's why I'm super stoked on the new makeup brand for every girl on the go just like me: NUDESTIX!

Why I love this brand:

1. All the makeup is super versatile: Not only are these products made for every skin type and skin shade, but everything they sell is created with the intent to be used in a variety of ways (I love the lip stain that also doubles as a blush for your cheeks).

2. No brushes necessary: This line of makeup is literally made to be smudged with your fingers which makes applying it super fast and effortless. You can create an entire natural and glowing day-to-day look in five minutes.

3. High quality products for a not so high price point: These products are just as great quality as other high end make up such as Mac, Urban Decay etc. but for a way more reasonable price #score.

4.The products are super portable: The "stix" come in little black tins that have mirrors on the inside which makes them perfect for throwing in your bag and touching up your make up later on in the day. The little sharpener is also killer to make sure your stix never grow dull.

5. CRUELTY FREE: Literally watch one PETA video on the make up industry and the cruelty of animal testing and you'll get why this is so important.

6. No parabens, phthalates, or sulfates: Nudestix has none of those harmful chemicals that are terrible for your skin and instead are packed with vitamins, antioxidants and LOTS of moisture (they're also dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested).

My Top 2 Fave Nudestix Products:

(Click the title to be linked to the products)

1. Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Belle

This color is ideal for everyday use and is super matte but doesn't dry your lips out like other matte products. Also gives the right amount of color to your cheeks!

2. Magnetic Luminous Eye Color in Angel

This shade is perfect for a natural day-to-day look, and I love using this as a highlter along the tip of my nose and cheekbones as well.

Fall Favorites: Hair Care

Happy first week of Fall! Fall has definitely earned its spot as my favorite season because who doesn't love Pumpkin Spice everything... Am I right???

For this post I teamed up with my hairstylist/beauty guru/one of my best friends Lauren Jones. Lauren is a Los Angeles based hair stylist and is best known for absolutely killin' the ombré and balayage hair game.

Between having bleached my naturally very dark brown hair several times and curling it a few times a week, hair care is definitely a priority for me. Together we created our Top 5 Fall Faves for all of your hair care needs!

Click the titles below to be linked to each of the products.

1. Orbie Texturizing Spray

Why we love this product: This texturizing spray is ideal to accomplish that textured bedhead wave that everyone is rockin' this fall. Also, as a little added plus it can be used as a dry shampoo too since it's powder based (I'm all for rockin' second and third day hairstyles!).

2. It's a 10 Miracle Silk Hair Mask

Why we love this product: This mask is perfect for keeping your hair hydrated and super silky throughout the dry fall/winter seasons. Not only does it strengthen, detangle, reduces frizz, and enhances shine, it also smells amazing. For all you ombré/balayage babes, this is a must! Also, "It's a 10" is a cruelty-free company, #HYFR.

3. Hot Tools 1.25" Curling Iron

Why we love this product: Lauren considers this curling iron to be a year-round fave, and her top choice curling iron because of its versatility. The 1.25" size allows for you to be able to create more formal looking curls, but also some casual beach waves as well. It heats up super quick, and gets hot enough to style your hair efficiently which is super helpful for all of you with busy schedules.

4. The Sparkling Soda by Drybar

Why we love this product: The Sparkling Soda is essentially an aerosol serum. Unlike traditional serums that weigh your hair down after styling, this one is super light weight but still adds that high-shine gloss that we all love. Lauren uses this to add body to the hair, while minimizing fly-aways, static and frizz. It also contains UV blockers to prevent color from fading, and smells uber refreshing.

5. Ouai Matte Pomade

Why we love this product: This product is part of the Ouai line by celeb hairstylist Jen Atkin. This matte pomade helps to create that effortless bed head-chic wave that is super trendy for Fall. Lauren explains that in order to create this effortlessly cool look, it is all about the texture. This helps give the best piecey texture without causing for hair to feel super waxy or sticky. Ouai is also a cruelty-free company!

Get The Look: My College Bedroom

When making the decision to move to a new college, one of the first thoughts that came to mind was how exactly I was going to decorate my new apartment! Going into my third year I wanted to go for a more minimalistic look rather than my previous rooms that were plastered with sorority decor, a mandala tapestry, and a bulletin board covered in photos, concert tickets, etc. I'm obsessed with all things rose gold and absolutely fell in love with the velvet duvet that has turned my bed into a velvety lil' cloud. I combined some accents from past years to go along with my new furnishings. While I'm still searching for a few more slight finishes to add to the room, I'm diggin' the cozy sanctuary thus far. Links to everything pictured are below!

Trend Watch: Satin

A trend that I am totally obsessed with right now is SATIN! I love how this silky fabric is making a strong comeback. On the runway, on  instagram, in-stores, or pretty much anywhere you look there is def a satin take over that is going on, and I'm super into it!

One of my favorite satin pieces is a slip dress. These super thin and glossy dresses can be worn in a variety of ways. By itself with a thick choker, super casually over a shirt, or dressed up with a leather jacket and thigh high boots for a more glam look.

I'm also really into satin bomber jackets. Though it has been no where near cool enough to even think of wearing a bomber jacket in Los Angeles, I can't wait for the weather to cool down to rock these shiny gems.

Satin slip dresses, sets, rompers, body suits, bomber jackets.... satin everything plz!

Fenty x Puma Slides by Rihanna

I think it's safe to say 2016 has been the year Bad Gal Riri officially killed the game. Aside from both her chart topping album "Anti" that I still have on repeat each day, and rumored to be dating Drizzy Drake (so jel), she has also completely dominated the shoe game this year.

Since Ri has taken her role as Puma Women's Creative Director, each release of her iconic creepers, trainers, and Fenty slides have sold out almost immediately time and time again. After several failed attempts at getting my hands on these shoes, I was determined that the slides would finally be mine this last drop on August 5th, 2016.

If you too want to add any of the fenty shoes to your collection you'll have to be on your A game. If you're looking to purchase them online, set an alarm and be on your retailer of choice's website a solid 10 minutes before with your card and billing info ready to go. It's not a bad idea to have several backup websites open in case the first of your choosing sells out of your favorite color/size.

If you're interested in buying them in-store, call your local shoe stores the day before the drop to confirm they will be carrying them, or you can use Footlocker's "Launch Locator" online. The day of the launch, I suggest arriving to the store at least 30 minutes prior to them opening and waiting in line. Disclaimer: many of the shoe stores only allow you to buy two pairs and they must be in different colors.

The super plush footbed and the satin strap with the faux fur is the perfect shoe to give any outfit that "bad gal" twist. For me, I envisioned them to be the ideal shoe for those "I'm totally wearing last night's makeup and outfit in public rn, but I'm still extra af" moments as I stroll into starbs wearing my oversized sunnies. Many celebs and bloggers alike have rocked these fluffy summer must-haves in a variety of ways (Some of my favorites pictured below). With four color options including white, black, pastel pink, and the newest addition grey, the outfit combinations are endless.

These are definitely the shoe I'll be rockin' all Summer '16.
